While children can memorize impressive amounts of information at a young age—rote memory is not a significant measure of what a child knows, in fact, an academic learn-and-drill emphasis focuses on concepts and skills that can easily be learned later. Child development specialists support programs that encourage creativity, repetitive play, and security which studies show brains need most in the formative years in order to function optimally later.
The aim of the Monarch Program is to aid in the development of children by supporting their natural curiosity and motivation to learn. Our prepared environments encourage the social, physical, emotional, intellectual and ethical development of each child.
Monarch Academy promotes the development of interpersonal skills and provides children with opportunities to develop skills expected for their age level. Individual goals are established through daily observation and implemented into the weekly curriculum.
